I intend to replace my front center seat with a custom console in the future. They fit under the ford seat but look like crap and sound only decent. My system isn't finished yet, I have some ford (Pioneer) 6x8 plate speakers in the back doors. We're not talking audiophile stuff here but it pleases me. I think they listed them on ebay for $4xx but I offered $240 and they accepted it. IMO the MS-8 is an actual bargain at the $477 I paid. ![]() Full aftermarket could net better results but at a much higher cost if you want to retain all factory functions. The electronics are actually not too bad in the factory system when the processing/eq is eliminated. The factory speakers are the weakest link by far so they have to go for sure. For the standard stereo (standard on XL-FX I think) you use only two inputs, not four as one might think. The MS-8 can take 8 inputs which is what one would need to integrate with the Sony system. I suppose he is paid to agree with me though. The salesman agreed that they were not great. Their stereos were better, but not worth half what they cost in terms of sound quality enhancement. When I was testing trucks the FX4 and Platinum are models I drove. What kind of speakers did you put in and what did it cost you overall?The standard F150 stereo sounds as crappy as a 1980's factory stereo. Its so muffled compared to my previous car that I had everything custom for the audio. I have been trying to do some research.How do you like your jbl ms8? I hate how my stock system sounds in my xlt. I think you can splice into the power wires from the old subwoofer and connect an LC2I and then run amp wires from that to a sub and amp or a sub and amp combo (powered subwoofer). I am just looking for an easy, clean replacement for my factory sony sub to something that has more bump and is a way better sub all around and keep it very stock-or as much as possible. I am looking to not "chop up" my truck meaning I am not looking to chop up the carpet, or drill holes in the firewall etc. I posted a couple threads in the Stereo/Audio section and I have not received very many responses so I figured I would post something here and see if anyone can help me out and give me some advice and tell me a little bit about their experiences with replacing the factory sony subwoofer.
